Week 14

Workshop

In the workshops this week I was finishing off the documentation and research side of my work. Before I began my project, I had researched artist that use grids in their work for some inspiration. This week I wrote up all my notes on these artists and made sure my initial research fed into my current ideas. I really enjoyed doing artist research as it reminded me of when I would take the same approach to work as I did in art a-level.

After I completed my artist research, I then wrote up my documentation notes into my document. I had tracked different iterations of my work in my notes as I tried different ideas. This meant that all I had to do was write up my thought process behind the code snippets and screen shots of my iterative process. I really enjoyed taking a more iterative approach in this project as it allowed me to fully experiment through different ideas I had.

Group Tutorial

This week was also the first group tutorial. In this session we went over the work from the past week at Havers Road and how we felt it went. We also looked at each other’s algorithmic art work. This helped me understand if my work was up to the same standard as others and the progress everyone else had made.

Presentation

On Thursday we presented the work from Havers Road and our process behind it. Although as a group we had problems working together at times, it was interesting to look back on our process. I really enjoyed being able to reflect on what went well and improvements we could have made/ will make going forward. I was happy with our presentation and felt it conveyed our process to others well.
