Week 12
Lecture
The lecture this week was from a company called Collusion. They spoke to us about the work they have done in Kings Lynn and how they can use computing to put on events for the public. They showed us how they used projectors and worked with local students to produce instillations.
I always find it interesting to see how different people and companies choose to combine art and computing. Collusion have created many projects that do just that in ways that include the people they are working with fully into the work. This led to the introduction of their Art // Tech // Play programme. The programme supports artists to experiment with creative technologies. After this introduction they showed us some of the larger pieces they have done that combine art with technology, particularly the Kings Lynn instillation that worked with school children to produce projections on buildings.
Although large scale instillations have never interested me that much, I found that this talk showed me how fascinating it can be. After our lecturer I chose to research some other instillations and came across several artists who use these techniques.

Workshop
This week was a continuation of the algorithmic art that I began last week. Last week I did a lot of iteration and experimentation into what I wanted to do for my project. This week I had settled on rotating circles and missing segments. This week still meant a lot of experimentation for my project and finetuning certain aspects.
I enjoyed this unit a lot as it allowed me to combine my love for art and my skill for coding. I am happy with the final outcome of my work and the direction I took my piece in. I think it showcases the skill I have and how I work without a strict direction.
