Ava W - Developer Journal
Week 5
This week marked the last week of our current project. I have thoroughly enjoyed this first project and the introduction to electronic prototyping. This project has introduced many new skills and techniques that I am positive will be important for me going forward. I am now capable of designing in a 3D space for printing, laser cutting designs that I have created in Illustrator, designing PCBs, and many more things. I am happy with my outcome as I feel it showcases my skills in this project. I am also excited to work on and improve similar projects going forward, using my new experiences and skills.

The lecture this week was delivered by Linda Rojas Parra, a senior UX designer. This lecture had a main focus on UX and UI; however, it also touched on the industry and getting jobs in an oversaturated market. This aspect of the talk was beneficial as it gave an insight into employability and how to market ourselves.
This led me to research different jobs I could find after Uni. I considered what Linda had said about having to apply to hundreds of jobs to get hired, and also her main point about applying to jobs you think you are unlikely to get. This last part stood out to me as I hadn’t considered applying to these jobs before. This led me to find the following example of a senior role that would be more advanced than my skill set.
